this time is for me

this time is for me

That sentence can be read several different ways and

Today it means this time, this quiet space between the family getting out the door to do their things and me starting my corporate day job.

This morning it isn’t that much time, basically 15-20 minutes, but they are mine.  I get to choose what I do for me, what I want to do.

Today, that is getting a nice cup of coffee and reflecting on the morning as a whole.  This isn’t the only thing that has been just for me this morning, but it feels different.  This is me making progress towards my new stretch goals, not just maintenance.

Other things I did this morning

- Walked the dog

- A couple of minutes with husband before he left to attend a Veteran’s breakfast

- 15 minutes of yoga and 5 minutes of meditation

- A couple of minutes catching up with my daughter before she went off to work

All of those things are very good stuff and they were all maintenance at the core

- maintaining our dog’s health

- maintaining my relationship with my husband

- maintaining my health

- maintaining my relationship with my daughter.

Again, all good stuff.

And none of it moving me forward in my stretch goals.

But today, I have this precious 15 minutes to create something.

So yes, it is a short post but it is reflective and it is DOING something.

This time is for ME.  This TIME is for me.  THIS time is for me.

Remember to claim time for you, my dear friends.
